Parliamentary Support
MPs supporting the Marine Bill Campaign
Local MPs Diana Johnson (MP for Hull North) and John Prescott (MP for Hull East) showed their support for the Marine Bill by attending a Wildlife Trust event at the Deep in summer highlighting the loss of marine megafauna and the need for UK legislation to create protected areas within our seas. Hugh Bayley (MP for York) has showed his support on several occassions by attending a meeting with the Trust to learn how the Marine Bill will affect local people and through writing to Hugh Irranca Davies (Minister for the Natural and Marine Environment Wildlife and Rural Affairs) asking him to include the Marine Bill within the Queens Speech.
